BUSINESS COACHING IN VANCOUVER

Build a business that does not depend on you for everything.

Running a business can leave little room to work on the business itself. Coaching with Joel Zimelstern helps you step back, identify what needs attention, and turn your priorities into practical action.

What is keeping you in the day-to-day?

You have built something worth developing. But being busy is not the same as making progress. Business coaching creates space to work through the challenges that are hardest to address while you are running everything.

  • Sales and marketing take effort, but you are unsure where to focus.
  • Too many decisions and problems come back to you.
  • Your team needs clearer expectations and ownership.
  • Plans get pushed aside by whatever feels urgent.
  • You want growth without simply adding more hours to your week.

Focus on the areas that matter to your business

Direction and priorities

Clarify what you want the business to achieve and choose the next steps that deserve your attention.

Sales, marketing and customer experience

Review how you attract and retain customers, where your efforts are going, and what you can test or improve.

Systems, delegation and your team

Identify recurring bottlenecks, clarify responsibilities, and develop ways of working that rely less on your constant involvement.

Follow-through and accountability

Turn intentions into manageable actions and review progress, challenges, and lessons as you go.

Practical support—not a one-size-fits-all formula

I work alongside you as a sounding board and thinking partner. We start with your goals and current situation, then identify where coaching can be useful. You bring your knowledge of the business; I bring questions, perspective, and support to help you challenge assumptions and follow through.

We agree on priorities and useful ways to review progress. These might include customer activity, team responsibilities, time spent on recurring problems, or the actions you have committed to. The focus depends on your business—not a promise of a particular revenue increase or a fixed timetable.

Work with someone who understands the responsibility of ownership

Before becoming a Vancouver ActionCOACH, I spent more than 30 years running my own insurance-related business. That experience shapes how I work with owners: with respect for the decisions you carry and an interest in both the business you are building and the life around it.

What to clarify before you commit

The first call is a fit conversation, not a full business assessment. Bring one challenge, the change you want and any questions about working together.

Before choosing a paid engagement, discuss session frequency and length, online or in-person arrangements, between-session contact, fees, cancellation terms and confidentiality. These details should be clear in the proposed arrangement; do not assume that every programme includes the same support.

What practical progress can look like

For example, an owner struggling with constant approvals might begin with a decision map: which decisions recur, who owns each one, what authority they need and when to escalate. A short action plan can then record one priority, a named owner, a next step and a review date. This is an illustrative working example, not a promised outcome or a client case study.

Choose the support that fits

Business coaching focuses on the priorities and practical challenges of running an owner-led business. If your main challenge is leading within a complex organisation, explore Executive Coaching.

If you prefer coaching in a group setting alongside other business owners, ProfitCLUB offers a different way to work on your goals. We can discuss which approach makes sense for you.
